nightwish has come back strong as ever, even after the leave of tarja, their former lead singer. she is now replaced by annette. many previous nightwish fans fear that the band will not sound like "nightwish" anymore. well, they still sound like the "nightwish" they were before.
annette's voice is equally as good as tarja's, in my opinion. while tarja's voice was more operatic, annette's has a more haunting tone to it--which fits the captivating lyrics of tuomas very well.
the symphonic power metal band's new release is, by far, their best album. dark passion play is like no other. tuomas claims that this is the album that "saved his life."
the first track on the album is "the poet and the pendelum," which is nightwish's longest song ever--adding up to nearly 14 minutes. the band's lyricist says that this is his favorite nightwish song ever.
i encourage anyone to buy this album as soon as possible. you won't be disappointed! |
